  • Founded in 1965 by the 12th Tsona Gontse Rinpoche and later consecrated by the 14th Dalai Lama, Bomdila Monastery is Tibetan-style gompa blends religious devotion, monastic learning, and tranquil mountain surroundings.
  • Dirang Monastery serves as both a spiritual retreat and cultural hub, where monks and visitors engage in meditation, chants, and Buddhist teachings. The serene traditional architecture, and panoramic outlook make it a peaceful stopover on the route to Tawang. 
  • Sela Pass is a high-altitude mountain pass (13,700 ft) in Arunachal Pradesh offering breathtaking views and snow-covered landscapes year-round. It is considered a sacred site in Tibetan Buddhism with 101 lakes in and around it.
  • Sela Lake, located beside the pass, is a stunning glacial lake that remains partially frozen during winter, adding to the area’s surreal beauty.
  • Jaswant Garh War Memorial is a tribute to Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat who bravely fought in the 1962 Indo-China war. This memorial honors his bravery and eternal vigil. It is said his soul still guards the Indo-China Border.

  • Bumla Pass is a high-altitude mountain pass on the Indo-China border, located at 15,200 ft near Tawang. Known for its strategic significance and snow-covered terrain, it offers stunning views and patriotic pride, with Indian Army presence adding to its importance.
